In the Tejidos (Weavings) series, I completely fill the pictorial surface by repeating a continuous writing gesture akin to weaving. This process records the passage of time while the pauses to re-dip the brush in paint create natural accents and gradations as the paint load gradually depletes.

This gesture originated in the Numbers series, where I wrote numbers in letter form without separating them. Through this, I discovered that writing evoked weaving—a way of counting time that naturally evolved into Weavings.
