My series En rythme (In Rhythm) is inspired by the painting of the same name by Paul Klee, in which the artist uses black, gray, and white to build a visual sequence that evokes a musical measure in three beats, alternating strong and weak accents to create a visual rhythm full of nuance and movement.

In the pieces of this series, I translate fragments of musical scores—such as a Mozart sonata or a Chopin nocturne—into visual compositions. The duration of each note or rest determines the width of each piece of wood, and the color of the edges varies according to whether the beat is strong or weak. Although musical rhythm can be expressed in mathematical proportions, in interpretation it is always alive, never rigid. Trying to transfer this principle to the pieces, the profiles show planes at different angles and directions, seeking to transform that living rhythm into a visual rhythm.
