In this work, I employed the same process developed in my pintura digital series, translating the repetitive finger movements of piano scale practice into a visual language that measures time and defines space.
For 100 meters of C major (694 octaves), each finger was assigned a specific color—black for the thumb and white for the other fingers—and I “played” the C major scale with my right hand along the entire 100-meter length of PVC tape. The resulting drawing presents the score of the C major scale, with each note rendered in the color corresponding to the finger used to “play” it.
This installation offers a sensory experience of repetition and progression, occupying the space and making the temporal dimension of the musical gesture perceptible.
